Day 1

I couldn't sleep last night. I was like a kid knowing santa had come and left gifts under the tree. We arose this morning and headed over to the farm. After a full day, RJ and I had cleared the driveway grass and made the terrain surrounding the house walkable. We took the four inch screws out of the front door that were keeping it shut and aired the house out. The electrician showed up to discuss adding electricity to the equation. It turns out that someone stole the power meter off the house for the copper. That is probably a good thing considering the wiring is knob and tube. The house was the first one on the street with electricity and still has the original wires. If we had turned it on the whole place would have probably burned down. We also found the straight pipes from the kitchen. They dump into the side yard about 5 feet from the septic tank and 5 feet from the well. It make the water taste so good. All in all it was a fun day. I even got to go to Lowes once.
